Light Boxes – our new show for Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015 at Summerhall.
Light Boxes, which is being adapted from Shane Jones’ brilliant book by Finn den Hertog and the Company, will be at Summerhall during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August.
It has been February for over a hundred days. Flight has been banned and no one is to speak or think of it ever again. While the townspeople talk of war, Bianca and her parents try to understand the mysterious sadness that has engulfed their community.
Directed by Finn den Hertog and with an exceptional ensemble of actors, music composed and performed live by Michael John McCarthy, video design by Lewis den Hertog, lights by Simon Wilkinson and design by Karen Tennant, Light Boxes brings to the stage a dark yet tender post-modern fairytale, rich in lush and macabre imagery. A deeply immersive piece, our audience will be invited into a world of snow, balloons, mint tea and the smell of honey and smoke – a world that feels at once familiar and otherworldly.
